#4 MYTH: PMI® CHOOSES CANDIDATES FOR AUDITING BASED ON THEIR PROFILE

This is a commonly-held belief about how PMI® selects its candidates for auditing. In fact, this process is random-based, which means every PMP® aspirants stand an equal chance to be selected for an audit. The audit is just for the quality assurance of PMI®. You will need proof of your academic education, 35 contact hours of Project Management Education and your project management experience.

#5 MYTH: YOU NEED TO LEARN BY HEART THE ITTO

The ITTO (Inputs – Tool & Technique – Output) may appear to be arduous to most PMP® aspirants. However, this is the basis of the PMP® exam. However, there is no need to learn by heart 516 ITTOs in 47 processes and 10 knowledge areas. The cornerstone of this is to have a grasp of how these ITTOs work and how they interact with each other. To do this, you need to read the PMBOK® as many times as possible to dig deeper into the logic behind it.

#6 MYTH: YOU NEED 35 PDUS TO GET THE PMP® CERTIFICATION

There is often a misunderstanding between the PDUs and contact hours. PDUs are for certification holders, which means once you become a certified practitioner, you need to earn PDUs for your professional development during the 3-year cycle. In addition, contact hours are for PMP® aspirants to become eligible for the PMP® exam.

In fact, you can get your 35 contact hours from any providers qualified by PMI®, not only from R.E.P.
