PMP® Certificate’s Requirement Criteria

Scenario 1

You have at least a secondary degree, either a high school or an equivalent education level. If your highest attended education level is secondary degree, to apply for PMP® certification, you need to satisfy following three PMP® certification requirements, which are: 5 years of project management experience; 7500 hours leading and directing projects and 35 hours of project management education. Being a part of a project environment also includes in this 5 years of experience. Further point worth noticing is that in 7500 hours of these 5 years, you need to be the project leader and director. This does not mean you should apply to the project manager position directly, since the leading or directing role can be supervisor, team leader of a group, assisting project manager etc.

Scenario 2

Your highest attended education level is a four-year degree or above, which could be bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, doctorate or equivalent, you need to: have 3 years of project management experience; 4500 hours leading and directing projects and 35 hours of project management education. Being a part of a project environment also includes in this 3 years of experience. Further point worth noticing is that in 4500 hours of these 3 years, you need to be the leader and director of the projects. This, once again does not mean you should apply to the project manager position directly, since the leading or directing role can be supervisor, team leader of a group, assisting project manager etc.
