Conflict management techniques number 3: Accommodating

Accommodating, which is the complete opposite of competing, is a strategy where one party gives in to the wishes or demands of another. They’re being cooperative but not assertive. This may appear to be a courteous way when one finds out that he/she has been wrong about a problem. When accommodating, the individual neglects his concerns to satisfy the concerns of the other person, there is an element of self-sacrifice in this mode. Accommodating might appear in generosity or charity, obeying another person’s order when you don't want to, or simply relate to another’s point of view. 

Conflict management techniques number 4: Collaborating

Collaborating is the method used when people are both assertive and cooperative, also be the complete opposite of avoiding. A group may learn to allow each participant to contribute with the possibility of co-creating a shared solution that everyone can support. Collaborating involves the effort in working with others to find solutions that could fully satisfy the team's concerns. It means investigating an issue to pinpoint the underlying requirements. Collaborating between two-person or between every team member might take the form of exploring a disagreement to learn from each other’s point of view or trying to find a creative solution to the problem.

Conflict management techniques number 5: Compromising

Another method of conflict managing is compromising, where participants are partially assertive and cooperative. The idea is that everyone gives up a little bit of what they want, and no one gets 100 percent of what they want. Compromise is regarded as being fair, even when no one is truly happy and accept the outcome. The goal is to find an acceptable solution that partially serves both sides. It falls intermediate between competing and accommodating, but compromising gives up more than competing but less than accommodating.
